What once stood on the site of the Ardmore West shopping center?

The Autocar Co. plant, Lower Merion’s major employer in the early part of the 20th century. The plant burned down on July 31, 1956.

Green Machine If you are an early riser, you will see Neil Schultz out & about on “Ardie”, the Ardmore Initiative’s sidewalk cleaning machine. Neil works part-time and does his best to get all of the streets in our business district. Please let us know how he’s doing, and if you see him, say hello!
