The mission of The Ardmore Initiative is to promote the economic well-being of property and business owners in the commercial district and to provide Streetscape enhancements. Our vision is the creation of “One (revitalized) Ardmore”, where the needs of both the business and the residential communities can be met without compromise to either.
Here is what we are doing to help you prosper!
Property and Building Owner Support and Assistance
We administer a Façade Improvement Grant Program to make your building more inviting.
We publish a Renovation Assistance Handbook to help you with the Township permit and approval process.
We provide you with technical and design assistance for your façade improvements.
We serve as your liaison and advocate to Lower Merion Township and the residential community.
We maintain a Main Street office to serve as an information resource for you and to provide visitors with information about your business.
Marketing and Promotions/Consensus Building
We make our downtown a more inviting destination with our Ardmore "A" lights, banners, and Snowflake lights.
We publish a Restaurant Guide (Fall, 07) and expanded Business Directory (Spring, 2008) to promote your business.
We maintain a web site (www.theardmoreinitiative.org) which includes a directory listing your business and a Commercial Real Estate section to help you sell or lease your property.
We communicate with you through print & E-newsletters and Blast faxes to keep you informed of important news & events.
We create and host events to build & strengthen our community and to drive customers to your business.
We provide administrative and financial support for First Friday Main Line and The Ardmore Business Association.
We provide support for your events and marketing efforts, as well as those of local non-profits.
Streetscape Enhancements
We keep your town clean & comfortable with the Green (Street cleaning) Machine, trash cans, benches and cigarette receptacles.
We make your town & storefronts beautiful with “Ardmore Blossoms”, a landscaping/beautification project, which includes storefront flower pots, hanging baskets, and planting 1000s of new flowers and bulbs and, in 2008 a watering system.
We have secured $50,000 in funds for Facade Improvement Grants to help increase the value of your property.
We continue to research and secure grants to provide additional Streetscape improvements to make your town beautiful.
